Geek Media Expo is the next con I will be attending, and I will definitely be dressed in my Fallout costume (even with super-realistic scoped 44 magnum accessory feared by DragonCon staff!).
I’ve never been to this before, but I hear it has a great vibe and I’ve even heard it called “Mini-DragonCon”. I’m gonna find out!
At 2011 Dragon*Con, I hardly saw any Fallout costumes.
At 2012 Dragon*Con, the few Fallout costumers I met were pretty frickin’ awesome, but none knew of a Fallout meetup of any kind. I saw many others when not in my own Fallout costume that looked amazing too.
I’d love to see dozens of vault dwellers, a full gang of Tunnel Snakes, NCR rangers, Legion armies, a full Brotherhood of Steel lineup, and tons of raiders, all in one area.
How do you go about making a semi-formal con meetup for photos, fellowship, and shop talk?
Where does one even begin?
UPDATE:
I guess next year I will just try to reach out to all the nice folks I’ve met at DragonCon and on Tumblr and try to schedule a convenient time for everyone to meet. This was my first year for costuming at DragonCon, and it made the experience so much cooler (technically it was a lot warmer, but ya know).

I think I made this guy’s con when I told him I had to get a picture with him because of my love for Falco.

I was pretty happy with how my vault suit turned out. I snagged one of my friends guns for this pic since I put away my “too real” scoped magnum for the night. Security gave me crap because of it looking and feeling too much like a real pistol. Probably would never have had an issue again later, but why risk it?
